Begin by finding a comfortable place.
Sitting, standing, lying down.
Notice your breath for a couple cycles. Nothing to change about that.
Next we’ll bring awareness to the space where your heart is in your chest—just behind your sternum and to the left (for most folks).
You can touch in with imagination or put your hand there for contact.
Connect to the space there, to your heart, and then imagine that your heart is being held in the space where it is. Cushioned between your lungs, floating atop your diaphragm, contained by a fascial guardian called the pericardium. (Link to anatomy image of torso with heart, lungs, diaphragm & pericardium.)
Breathe.
Invite the idea of your heart resting.
What do you notice happening as you invite that idea? What changes? What comes to your attention? What qualities are you enjoying, or if not enjoying, maybe just curious about?
Breathe.
And as it arrives for you, let go of this lesson and move on to the next thing.
As always I’m curious about your experience. Email me at eve@source-embodiment.com to share.
